If at first you don't succeed.....

I've been trying to put this picture into my "Mission Journal" and every time I do part of the picture is covered by solid black. I have had the same problem with other pictures.
So how come I can get it to show the whole picture here, but not in my "Mission Journal".
I'm creating the "Mission Journal" with Word Perfect. Is my problem with WP or someplace else?
To add to the frustration, I just tried opening my PrintShop program, inserted this picture into a file, copied it, then inserted it into my "Mission Journal" If it works after all that nonsense, why can't I insert it directly from my pictures file?
I hold for technical support.

Sorry, cannot provide technical support, but do like the photo very much. You were such a dashing missionary.

Your problem is probably with the way Word Perfect reads the picture file. What did you use to create the picture originally? Probably your hp scanner. When it creates the picture it attaches a bunch of metadata to it. WP probably has a problem with the attached metadata. Then when you resave the picture in Photoshop, the original metadata gets overwritten with Photoshops flavor of metadata, which WP probably likes more. Of course, this is just one possibility and the problem could be somewhere else as well. We need to get a VPN setup so I can control your computer from here and investigate your problem. I'll look into doing that and let you know what I find.

Dave,
I don't pretend to understand most of what you say but it sounds possible. But if that's the case, why didn't WP do that with all the other pictures I've already put into the journal file? Thanks for the feedback. Wish I knew what a VPN is.

Dad - you've hardly changed a bit since that picture was taken - just a little lighter shade of hair!

I LOVE old pictures. They seem so real. Thanks for sprinkling a few of your treasures onto the blog!

I just looked down to the word verification I have to type, and the word is "waggies" - how cute!
I will now go type "waggies" and then send this comment off into cyberspace!
Love,
Barb
