I recognize that beautiful and peculiarly-named bird!
Thanks Grandpa (and thanks to my Dad, for teaching me everything I know about birds).
That is a splendid speciman of a rufous sided towhee! It's the weirdest bird name I know. Tom talks about them all the time. At least every other sentence, it seems. :)
