A clearer picture
Here are good old Shadrach and Betsey again. This time I spelled her name correctly. It 's a larger picture than the earlier one. I got it via email from the lady who has it on her blog. I filed it under "My Pictures" and printed a copy. It came out quite well; you can even see some tint in their cheeks, which suggests to me that the original must have been tinted. Hardly seems in keeping with Shadrach (or at least my mental concept of him) as a real hardy pioneer.
If you can't make a good copy from this, let me know. I'll forward what came to me via email.

Grandpa, thanks for the great picture. Very cool
You're welcome. How come they cut off your Segullah comments at 205?
Ahh, Grandpa, you've been spying on me over there, haven't you?? :-) Actually, both Kathy (my friend who's the editor) and I decided it was a good idea because I didn't have time to moderate them any more--sometimes crazies pop in on conversations like that--and because the conversation had run its course.
No, no, no. Not spying. We were at Denny's and she told me about all the comments you were getting. When I got home I checked it out and actually read about 50 or 60 until I could begin to see the main points people were making were starting to be repeated, es, so I dropped town to the end.
The question I wanted to ask was:
Where is the fine line between "pandering to" and "seeking the support of"? and how does one recognize the difference? Is it, perhaps, in the mind of the beholder?
Hi Grandpa! I'm very impressed with your blog. I know multiple people my age who won't even attempt a blog because they don't think they could figure it out.
We've been a bit busy lately so I've fallen behind on blog reading, but I'm looking forward to reading your past posts.
Oh yes, much better picture of Shadrach and Betsy. I wouldn't want to be on the bad side of either one of 'em, tough. They look tough!
